How HIPS are damaging our local housing market |

Recently, Mark met up with local estate agents to talk to them about the state of the local property market. All agreed that Home Information Packs were damaging house prices in the area. Many people are now nervous about making big financial decisions and are also unsure what their properties are worth in the current climate. The best way to find out what your house is worth is to let the market decide by actually putting your house up for sale and seeing what happens. But Home Information Packs make that an expensive proposition. They also provide no real benefit for the buyer. As one resident said, “If I want to know whether somewhere is energy efficient, I look to see if it has double glazing.” A Conservative Government will scrap HIPS.
